Bible Class

Wednesday evenings, Every other week, starting June 29th.

At St. Luke’s and on zoom.

We’re offering a Bible Class built around casual discussion and rigorous study. It would be a chance to learn empathetic, intellectual methods for interpreting scripture in the modern world. Pastor Joe would walk through a passage, explaining how he reads and studies scripture in preparation for sermons. In it participants might,

  1. Learn hermeneutical principles for the modern world

  2. Walk through scripture texts, line by line

  3. Learn history, culture, and geography, languages, etc

  4. Gain access to commentaries and learn how to read and apply them

  5. Engage in discussion of what the text means for today
