Crop Walk
2024 CROP Hunger Walk
Our congregation has been fighting hunger, providing access to clean drinking water, assisting refugees, and responding to disasters for almost 40 years by participating in the Central Ohio CROP Hunger Walk. Please join us to raise funds to support programs that provide meals and other immediate support, as well as long-lasting solutions to hunger.
Susan Moran and Tom Culberson Jr. are co-captains for team Cityview UMC. They heard about some fun ideas to fundraise at a pre-walk meeting. Since we are recognizing we have a youth population in our congregation we thought we could involve them in a fundraising project. Also, we already know we have some talented bakers in our community from our successful cookie exchange and tea last December. We thought a bake sale would be a delicious way to fundraise.
No one in this world should be hungry. That's why the CROP Hunger Walk is more than just a yearly gathering. It is our chance to take action to make sure that one more person has enough to eat.
This year’s walk is Sunday, October 13th. After worship on the day of the walk, participants will gather in the Fellowship Hall to eat lunch together, then we will carpool to Scioto Audubon Metro Park for the walk. The course for the walk has options suitable to the abilities and interest of most walkers.
Prayerfully consider participating in this year’s CROP Walk by either supporting our fundraisers, making a financial contribution, providing/serving lunch on walk day, carpooling the walkers to the park and/or walking in the event. And please pray for a successful event and the hunger-fighting work that we are supporting!
You may join our team and/or make a financial contribution by going to the 2024 Cityview Church CROP Walk web page. If you are not comfortable donating online, you can donate cash or a check made payable to CWS/CROP.
If you would like to participate in any way or just have questions, please text either Susan Moran at (614) 747-2179 or Tom Culberson, Jr. at (614) 419-2163.
