Verse 1

Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord

We will wait upon the Lord

We will wait upon the Lord

Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord

We will wait upon the Lord

We will wait upon the Lord

Misc 1 (Pre-Chorus)

Our God You reign forever

Our Hope our strong Deliv'rer

Chorus 1

You are the everlasting God

The everlasting God

You do not faint

You won't grow weary

You're the defender of the weak

You comfort those in need

You lift us up on wings like eagles

Leader: Give ear, O my people, to my teaching;

All: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

Leader: I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings from of old, things that we have heard and known, that our ancestors have told us.

All: we will tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD and God’s might and the wonders that God has done.

Leader: God established a decree in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel,

All: that the next generation might know them, so that they should set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep God’s commandments.

VERSE 1:

Come out of sadness, from wherever you've been

Come broken hearted, let rescue begin

Come find your mercy, oh sinner come kneel

Earth has no sorrow that heaven can't heal

Earth has no sorrow that heaven can't heal

CHORUS:

So lay down your burdens, lay down your shame

All who are broken, lift up your face

Oh wanderer come home, you're not too far

So lay down your hurt, lay down your heart

(X2)

Come as you are

VERSE 2:

There's hope for the hopeless,

and all those who've strayed

Come sit at the table, come taste the grace

There's rest for the weary, rest that endures

Earth has no sorrow that heaven can't cure

CHORUS

BRIDGE:

Come as you are

Come as you are

Fall in his arms

Come as you are

VERSE 3:

There's joy for the morning, oh sinner be still

Earth has no sorrow, that heaven can't heal

Earth has no sorrow, that heaven can't heal

CHORUS:

So lay down your burdens, lay down your shame

All who are broken, lift up your face

Oh wanderer come home, you're not too far

So lay down your hurt, lay down your heart

Come as you are

Verse 1

On Jordan's stormy banks I stand

And cast a wishful eye

To Canaan's fair and happy land

Where my possessions lie

Verse 2

All o'er those wide extended plains

Shines one eternal day

There God the Son forever reigns

And scatters night away

Verse 3

No chilling winds nor poisonous breath

Can reach that healthful shore

Sickness sorrow pain and death

Are felt and feared no more

Verse 4

When shall I reach that happy place

And be forever blessed

When shall I see my Father's face

And in His bosom rest

Giving

If you're a guest with us today, this part of the service might not be for you. If you consider this church your church home or want to invest in this work, you can give at cityviewcolumbus.org/give.

When prompted, read the words in bold:

Do you, as Christ's body, the Church,
reaffirm both your rejection of sin
and your commitment to Christ?

We do.

Will you nurture one another in the Christian faith and life
and include these persons now before you in your care?

With God's help we will proclaim the good news
and live according to the example of Christ.
We will surround these persons
with a community of love and forgiveness,
that they may grow in their service to others.
We will pray for them,
that they may be true disciples
who walk in the way that leads to life.
